The opening of the 14th session of the Al-Jawahiri Festival at the Iraq International Book Fair

Days are rolling, and there is little left until the end of the Iraq International Book Fair, events that continue to occur, mostly in the cultural and cognitive aspect and what provides a service to the Iraqi society.

The students’ insistence continues to add joy to the days of the “Absent Tohme Farman” exhibition, so it has become a tradition for them to open our exhibition days and wander between the palm tree and the neighbors, walking in moderate classes, adhering to the system set by their schools and teachers.

Another cultural event took place yesterday, coinciding with the Iraq International Book Fair, where the fourteenth session of the Al-Jawahiri Festival, which bore the name of the poet Lamia Abbas Emara, was opened and organized and managed by the General Union of Writers and Writers in Iraq.

At ten o’clock in the morning, the national activist played to announce the opening of the Jawahiri Festival, where the opening speech presented by the poet Mudar Al-Alusi and the speech of the General Union of Writers and Writers in Iraq delivered by its president Najeh Mamouri and also a speech to the Ministry of Culture.

Then we listened to the cabin of the greatest Arab poet Muhammad Mahdi Al-Jawahiri, led by the Director General of the Department of Musical Arts, Maestro Alaa Majeed, and poetry must be present, so the beginning was with the sweetness of Hilla and its poet Muwaffaq Muhammad.

He was followed in the poetry readings by Muhannad Jamal Al-Din, Hassan Abd Radi, Fawzi Akram Tarazi, Dr. Rawya Al-Shaer, Awat Hassan Amin, Rond Boulos, Abdullah Al-Nai.

The poem “Ya Lakhdak Naamin”, by the greatest Arab poet, performed by Malik Mohsen, Ahmed Nehme, Heba Al-Azzawi and Shaima Al-Azzawi, composed and arranged by Ibrahim Al-Sayed, sound engineering by Zaidoun Hussein, and the implementation and sound production of the City of Art Studios for cinema and television, and photography and editing by Ziad Matti.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi fashion house, with the participation of models from outside the house, presented “Our Heritage”, implemented and directed by Mahmoud Rajab.

The schedule of cultural seminars was ongoing and the first symposium was related to the Al-Jawahiri Poetry Festival, where the title was “Poetry and Social and Cultural Transformations in Iraq”, and was spoken by Dr. Iyad Al-Hamdani, Dr. Muhammad Hussein Mahmoud, Mr. Abd Ali Hassan and Dr. Khalil Shukri Hayas and moderated by Dr. Jassim Muhammad Jassim.

It was a seminar to remember the critic and poet Bandar Abdel Hamid moderated by the poet Omar Al-Saray, and the presence as critical speakers Alaa Al-Mufarji and Sami Ahmed, followed by a seminar entitled “Absent and Cinema” spoken by the artist Mahmoud Abu Al-Abbas, Dr. Taha Al-Hashemi, and the critic Alaa Al-Mufarji and moderated by Dr. Shatha Al-Amili.

The conclusion was with poetry and a trip with poets from Iraq, where Salama Al-Salhi and Gharam Al-Rubaie and under the distinguished management of the poet Samarkand Al-Jabri.

The initiatives of the Central Bank were also discussed through the Vice President of the Central Bank Ihsan Chamran Al-Yasiri and moderated by economist Bassem Antoine.
