Amid the presence of official, cultural and popular, the Iraq International Book Fair concludes its activities with a large ceremony

The second edition of the Iraq International Book Fair, which bore the name of the novelist Ghayeb Tohme Farman, concluded under the slogan “The Palm and the Neighbors”, with the participation of 300 publishing houses.

With the divination of the poet Omar Al-Saray, the closing ceremony began with the speech of Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture and Arts, which was delivered by the researcher Dr. The Hague Abdul Hussein.

In conjunction with the conclusion of the exhibition, the Al-Jawahiri Festival also concluded its fourteenth session, which bore the name of the pioneer Lamia Abbas Emara, where critic Ali Al-Fawaz delivered the closing statement of this festival.

After that, the cultural and artistic concert began with poetry readings and musical performance by violinist Ihab Mohammed and oud player Yasser Saadoun.

The beginning was with the poet Imad Jabbar, who read a poem about his area of New Baghdad, then the turn was to the poet Aref Al-Saadi and his poem The Killing of Al-Khidr.

The conclusion of the poetry readings was with the poet Mujahid Abu Al-Hail and a poem in the presence of an Iraqi female.

There was a tribute to many names, and the beginning with the President of the General Union of Writers and Writers in Iraq, Najeh Al-Mamouri, who expressed his joy that the award was presented to him by the young poet Omar Al-Saray.

In turn, Mamouri presented the rest of the honors, where the writer and novelist Zuhair Al-Jazaeri, followed by the thinker Ghaleb Al-Shabandar, then the editor-in-chief of Al-Mada newspaper, the writer Ali Hussein, as well as the researcher Dr. Lahai Abdul Hussein.

In the honor, there was also the plastic artist Jabr Alwan, and there was a tribute to Asma, but they did not attend for various reasons, critics Yassin Al-Naseer, Fadel Thamer, plastic artist Saad Al-Taie, playwright Salah Al-Qasab, artist Mohsen Farhan, poet Muwaffaq Muhammad and poet Fadel Al-Azzawi.

Led by Maestro Alaa Majeed, the National Musical Heritage Band presented a special evening that was well received by the attendees at the end of the exhibition.
