Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture and Arts, the organizer of the Iraq International Book Fair, chose to have Al-Mutanabbi Street, Iraq’s cultural lung, represented in this forum, so it set up a tent similar to Al-Mutanabbi Street and invited all bookstore owners and booksellers on Al-Mutanabbi Street to participate in it. He added: At first, there was a fear of participation due to the health and economic conditions, but this fear quickly disappeared for the high keenness shown by both the exhibition management and citizens in taking all preventive measures from allocating cabins for fogping, sterilization and wearing masks, and praised the good public turnout for the exhibition compared to exhibitions he had previously visited recently, including the Beirut Exhibition and the Sharjah Exhibition. He pointed out that one of the advantages of this exhibition is the remarkable youth attendance, and this is a joyful thing because it refutes the theory that this generation does not read, and Adham called at the end of his speech readers to accept the other opinion, dialogue and non-extremism.
Mr. Ahmed Ali Mohammed Al-Amidi, owner of Al-Ula Library, said: I extend my sincere thanks to Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture and Arts for giving us the opportunity to participate in this forum, and I also thank it for the wonderful organization that we felt even before the beginning of the exhibition by organizing the entry identities and places of entry for visitors, participants, publishing houses, and the exhibition is very beautiful and the turnout is wonderful and the participation of Al-Mutanabbi’s tent will be useful to readers hopefully because of its diverse and rare books. The idea of establishing a tent Mutanabbi is a wonderful idea, which is a reproduction of what actually exists in this street, and I think that this idea succeeded because it attracted most of the publishing houses and library owners on Al-Mutanabbi Street, which includes the mothers of books in various fields, as she added: In fact, the organization and the public turnout for the exhibition were at a good level and I am very happy with that and I expect that this exhibition will witness a remarkable development in the coming sessions, as for prices, she spoke, saying: As you know that the prices in Al-Mutanabbi Street differ from the prices in exhibitions, where we tried here to reduce them, although the rental prices are somewhat high and confirmed that reading the book is a special pleasure that differs from electronic reading.one of the pioneers of Al-Mutanabbi Street, Mr. Bassem Hashem Al-Saadi, praised the idea of Al-Mutanabbi tent as it provided the visitor with the opportunity to obtain a variety of rare books, and he also expressed his admiration for the good organization and the influx of visitors, and that the prices are medium, and the establishment of such exhibitions is very necessary as it encourages Reading and brain development. Mr. Abdul Aziz Shaker Al-Falahi / owner of Al-Haydarkhana Library / spoke saying: In fact, this is our first participation, thanks to the good initiative of Al-Mada Foundation for Media, Culture and Arts represented by Al-Mutanabbi Tent, where this initiative allowed us to display old and rare books in their original version dating back to the thirties of the last century and we were not able to display them previously and now they are accessible to everyone and I recommend reading these books as they are original sources and are the basis and base for books, research and contemporary studies. Al-Falahi speaking: The touches in this exhibition are better than previous exhibitions and the organization is very high, especially with regard to the allocation of separate halls for delegations and participating countries, and the influx of fans to this forum is very good.
